📢 Lovelanders, big decisions are on the horizon as our City prepares for a new revenue shortfall.

Communication and Engagement Department from City of Loveland · 2 May
Photo from Communication and Engagement D.

On April 30, City Council gave some guidance on how to tackle this challenge, supporting the approach of canceling some capital projects and using 2023 salary savings to balance the budget in 2024.

For 2025 and beyond, guidance was to prioritize essential City functions like public safety, infrastructure, and core services, while maintaining emergency reserves. Staff are also encouraged to reevaluate whether impacts can be minimized to public-facing services such as parks, cultural services, and the library. The council also discussed exploring the possibility of pursuing a potential tax increase to preserve City services at current levels.

We're just beginning this important decision-making process, and no impactful decisions have been made yet.

Let’s prepare for neighborhood spring street sweeping starting Monday, May 6 to 31!

Communications and Engagement Department from City of Loveland · 30 Apr
Photo from Communications and Engagement D.

Here's what you need to know:

🗒️ Sweeping will be Monday – Thursday (excluding trash days). The City coordinates its street sweeping schedule with trash pick-up days. This is an easy reminder of when our street sweeper will come by neighborhoods.

🚗 Relocate your car from curbs and gutters so that we can access this area for proper sweeping.

🍃 Don't sweep leaves or grass into the streets (this makes it harder to clean, and it's against City Ordinance). If you have a large amount of leaves, tree limbs, or other yard waste, you can use your yard waste cart or drop off the materials at the Recycling Center at 400 N Wilson Ave.

🦥 Our trucks move slowly! Safety is a top priority, so please yield when you see us.

Street sweeping ensures that Loveland streets are free from yard debris, which helps keep streets from flooding by avoiding blocked gutters. It also protects the quality of our waterways by mitigating excess nutrient pollution caused by organic materials that find their way into streams and rivers.
